Today I am thankful that His grace is free.
My 3 crazy boys are seriously giving me such good material for this 30 Days of Grace thing. They are my constant reminder of His love for me.
Yesterday out of nowhere my 7 year old says:
Mikey: Mom, I have a great idea. What if I invented a machine that had a screen and a keyboard where you could type in some numbers and then you could print that many dollars??? I would type in one hundred billion sixty five million.
Me: Oh, so you are saying you want a money printing machine?
Have you ever tried explaining that money isn’t free to an inquisitive seven year old? It honestly still doesn’t make sense to me, either, but I did my best to tell him that the government controls the money and how much of it there is and how and who makes more. This explanation is coming from the girl who, until the age of 20, thought as long as you had checks left in the checkbook, you had money. This momma tried.
The awesome thing about grace is that we don’t need a mint to print it or create it. There is no federal reserve on grace. It was a one time transaction, a priceless trade, that will never be affected by inflation. All we have to do is ask. We don’t have to go to work for it, take out part for taxes, and then live on what we have left until it is dispersed again. It’s a free flowing ATM and Jesus is the pin number.
